Getting some paperwork ready.
One of our big task this year is once again getting an Australian visa for Em, when we head back toAustraliafor a holiday in late May, early June. It’s never been a problem before, applying for an Australian visa, but one never feels completely convinced they get the visa until they actually do.
Of course, repeat visit visas are usually a lot easier to get then for a person who has never been before, and this will be Em’s third time back toAustralia, so we’re quite familiar with the process of applying.
It does take some leg work, and, rather stupidly, I didn’t scan the copies from last time, which would mean a little less thinking this time round.
I do have copies of letters of sponsorship and other documents, which will definitely save us a lot of time.
Thankfully the whole process can be done through the EMS (express mail service) here in Beijing, although I’m likely going to make the trip to the Australian embassy in Beijing in person, only because it’s next to a fantastic Irish pub with an even better Indian restaurant upstairs.
Once we get a visa, we’ll start organizing tickets, and perhaps a stopover to another country (and no doubt another round of visa application).
It’s all kind of exciting, and I’m really looking forward to it.
